Managing menopause can be daunting to say the least! So many do's. So many don'ts. It's important to remember there's no one size fits all solution. I want to share a part of my story with you in hopes it makes you feel a little less alone.
When I was shopping in Sedona with my daughter last year, I felt an intense heat take over my body and I blew it off as “Oh its 120 degrees, that why I am hot.”
But, I was in air conditioning AND these little episodes kept happening... even when I returned to temperate Ohio!
If you're like me you may find yourself thinking "Was this it? Was I actually in menopause?" I really didn’t want it at all. And I was scared. I thought well, here come the elastic pants and crying spells. I might as well buy my walker now... you too?
But you know what? I love being in menopause! I feel empowered, strong and free!
I love that my body is doing what it is supposed to do.
Yes, I do still burn up like an inferno at times, but I know that’s my body responding to changes. I decided to accept this natural transition with grace and I went on an expedition to learn how to manage it as naturally as possible. Each woman has their own approach to this stage but I am convinced that what can help most is sharing our experiences.
